Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Kaza for using the Kaza app and service. By creating an account, you accept them and our Privacy Policy.

1. What Kaza is

Kaza connects people looking for a home to rent in Rwanda with brokers who have properties. Brokers post listings. Clients browse them or post a request describing what they want, and the two can chat in the app. Kaza is a meeting place only. We are not a party to any rental agreement.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Your phone number is your login, so it must be a number you own and can receive texts on.
• Give your real name and keep your details up to date.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• One person, one account. Do not pretend to be someone else.

3. Cost

Kaza is free for clients and brokers. Nothing is sold inside the app. Rent, deposits and any broker fees are agreed and paid directly between the people involved, outside Kaza. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you first and make them clearly optional.

4. Your content

You own the listings, requests, photos, videos and messages you post. When you post them, you allow us to store, display and send them to the people who are meant to see them, for as long as they stay on Kaza. You confirm that you have the right to post them and that they are accurate.

5. What is not allowed

Do not post, send or do any of the following on Kaza:

• fake, misleading or duplicate listings, or listings for property you have no right to rent out.
• scams, requests for advance payment for a property you cannot show, or attempts to collect money or personal details under false pretences.
• harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, gender, disability or any other protected trait.
• sexual, violent or otherwise objectionable content.
• spam, unrelated advertising, or messages sent in bulk.
• other people's personal information without their consent.
• anything illegal under Rwandan law.
• attempts to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of the service.

6. Reporting and blocking

• Report: you can report any listing (the flag icon on a listing), message (press and hold it), or person (tap their name in a chat).
• Block: you can block anyone from their profile in a chat. Neither of you will see the other's listings, requests or messages. You can unblock them in Profile → Blocked people.
• Our response: we review reports within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these terms and suspend or ban the people who posted it.

7. Brokers

• Only list properties you are allowed to rent out, and show the real rent and condition.
• Use photos and videos of the actual property.
• Close a listing once the property is no longer available.
• Follow the laws that apply to property brokerage in Rwanda.

8. Dealings between users

Visit a property and check who owns it before you pay anything. Kaza does not check every listing or user, does not handle payments, and is not responsible for agreements, payments or disputes between users. Ratings show other users' experiences, not our endorsement.

9. Suspension and deletion

We may remove content or suspend or close any account that breaks these terms. If you think we made a mistake, contact us. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. See deleting your account.

10. Liability

We work to keep Kaza available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from listings, messages or dealings between users, or from the service being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Rwandan consumer law.

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the app. If you keep using Kaza after a change, you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Disputes go to the competent courts of Rwanda.
